How would you like to lead a major food brand’s long-term research efforts?
A client of ours in Chicago has asked us to help them identify a Sr. / Principal-level Scientist who'll be responsible for leading breakthrough innovation research primarily with sweeteners.
This individual and team will be working on projects that have a 2-4 year time horizon and will be focused on alternative ingredient sources, processes, and innovative, healthier-for-you options..
Your work will be limited only by what you can imagine in this role - you'll look for game-changing product and process opportunities, then test, validate, and course correct in our client's innovation center. Your research will support new product development initiatives.
Our client has a large portfolio to leverage your research - the company will be doing extensive reformulation over the next several years and your on-going work will contribute to those changes.
Additionally, you'll be focused on blue-sky projects that help the company break new ground within their category.
You'll lead another Research Scientist and manage and schedule their workload.
We're looking for someone who's currently heavily focused in sweetener research - someone who has a deep knowledge base with ingredient functionality and applications.
The ideal candidate additionally has the following in their background:
Masters or PhD in Food Science or similar
5+ years of experience in a commercial product development setting or in a research role working in a for-profit company.
